Accents of Kindness
Shopping local is so incredibly important to us, and not just because we are small business owners. Shopping at retailers owned by your neighbors and friends sets off a chain reaction that benefits everyone. As a reminder of that cycle of positivity, we established Accents of Kindness, our way to give back to our community in a tangible way.
A percentage of every dollar spent at Accent Prone goes into our giving back program fund.Once we hit our goal, we begin accepting nominations for a
person or family in the community who needs or deserves a fun surprise.The individual or family chosen gets a full room makeover on us!
Over the last few years, we have been fortunate enough to offer three of these giveaways, and we look forward to doing more in the future. This is a facet of our business that is so rewarding for us as we get to use design as a vehicle to bring joy to others.
Our most recent giveaway was for the sweet Byrd Family. Here is what their adoring sister said when she nominated them for the makeover: “My sweet niece, Kensley Hope Byrd, was born last January with hypoplastic left heart syndrome… After open heart surgeries, countless trips to Levine Children’s Hospital, and prayers from all over the
country, we lost our little heart warrior last April. My family was devastated and honestly will never be the same. Andrew and Melissa went through the entire process with such grace and strength, and I can’t think of a more deserving couple.” It was our honor and joy to give the
Byrds a new master bedroom sanctuary where they could hopefully find some small amount of peace and solace.
